Here are some of the specific aims of the music curriculum at Waverton:

  • To develop children's musical skills, by singing, playing instruments, composing and performing music.

  • To help children to understand musical concepts, such as rhythm, pitch, dynamics and tempo.

  • To encourage children to listen to and appreciate a wide range of music.

  • To help children to understand the history and cultural significance of music.

  • To help children to use music to express themselves creatively.
