Languages

The primary MFL (Modern Foreign Language) curriculum aims to help children develop a love of languages and cultures. It helps them to understand and use another language, and to appreciate the diversity of the world.

Here are some of the specific aims of the MFL curriculum at Waverton:

  • To develop children's listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in another language.

  • To help children to understand the grammar and vocabulary of another language.

  • To encourage children to use the language to communicate with others.

  • To help children to appreciate the culture associated with the language they are learning.

  • To help children to develop their intercultural understanding.
