Art and design

Primary art aims to help children develop their creativity and imagination. It also helps them to learn about different cultures and to express themselves.

Here are some of the specific aims of the art curriculum at Waverton:

  • To develop children's creative skills, such as drawing, painting, and sculpture.

  • To help children to understand and appreciate different art forms, such as painting, sculpture, and architecture.

  • To encourage children to experiment with different materials and techniques.

  • To help children to develop their critical thinking skills, such as analyzing and evaluating art.

  • To help children to develop their communication skills, such as talking about their art and writing about it.
