Welcome to Year 1

Autumn Term :

This term our main enquiry question is: Is a pirate an explorer?

P.E.

All children need a named P.E. kit consisting of:

Black shorts
House colour polo shirt
Trainers or pumps (preferably with Velcro fastenings)

Kits should be in a small draw string bag, clearly labelled with your child’s name (no rucksacks as we do not have space for them). The kit can remain in school until the end of the half-term.

P.E. days: Tuesday and Friday

History or Geography	Geography Is a pirate an explorer?
Science	Our body and senses. Identify, name, draw and label basic body parts and be able to link them to our senses.
English	The Night Pirate by Peter Harris
Maths	Numbers to 10, Part-whole within 10, Addition within 10.
PE	Dance – Animals, Fundamental movements skills
RE	Christianity – Belonging.
Computing	Instructions to move - Bebots.
PSHE	What makes a good team?
Music	Charanga – Hey you! Differences between pulse, rhythm, and pitch.
DT or Art	Maggi Hambling - painting.
